Ok, so you wanna know about this here cookie monster backpack, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, I seen a whole bunch of ‘em, all sorts, shapes, and sizes. Don’t rightly know what all the fuss is about, but the young’uns, they seem to love ‘em.
First off, where d’ya find these things? Well, seems like everywhere these days. You got your stores, big ones and small ones. Then there’s the internet, that fancy thingamajig. My grandson showed me, you can find just about anything on there. He typed somethin’ in, somethin’ like “cookie monster bag” and wouldn’t ya know it, a whole mess of pictures popped up! He says you can buy ‘em right there on that screen, but I dunno… seems kinda fishy to me. I like to hold somethin’ in my hands before I buy it, ya know?
Anyways, these backpacks, they ain’t just for lookin’ at, no siree. They’re for carryin’ stuff. Kids these days, they gotta haul around all sorts of things. Books, toys, snacks… you name it. My grandkid, he packs his backpack so full, looks like it’s gonna burst! And of course, it’s gotta have that cookie monster on it, otherwise it just ain’t good enough.
Now, I seen some backpacks that are just the cookie monster’s face. Big, blue, furry face with googly eyes. Kinda cute, I guess, in a weird sorta way. Then there’s others with the whole cookie monster on ‘em, standin’ up and holdin’ a cookie, or maybe even eatin’ a cookie. And sometimes, they just got the cookie monster’s picture all over it, little ones all lined up in a row. Makes ya dizzy just lookin’ at it.
- Big ones, for the older kids, I reckon. They can hold a whole lot of stuff.
- Small ones, for the little tykes. Just big enough for a sippy cup and a diaper, maybe.
- Ones with wheels, like a little suitcase. Kids these days, they don’t wanna carry nothin’, do they?
- Ones that light up. Now that’s just silly if you ask me. But the kids, they love it.
I heard tell that this here cookie monster, he used to eat somethin’ else besides cookies. Rice cakes, they said. Painted rice cakes! Can ya believe that? Seems like those cookies, they was bad for the puppet, or somethin’. Oils and such. And this cookie monster, he ain’t real, ya know. He’s a puppet! Some fella puts his hand inside and makes him talk and eat. Imagine that! And they even had this fella on TV sayin’ the cookie monster turned into a veggie monster! Can ya imagine? A veggie monster!
But I tell ya, the kids don’t care about all that. They just want their cookie monster backpack. And they want it now! It’s like the world’ll end if they don’t get that backpack. I don’t understand it, myself. Back in my day, we carried our stuff in a paper bag, and we were happy with it. But times change, I guess. And if a cookie monster backpack makes a kid happy, well, then I guess it ain’t so bad.
So, if you’re lookin’ for one of these here backpacks, just go to the store, or hop on that there internet thing. You’ll find plenty, I guarantee it. Just be prepared to pay a pretty penny. These things ain’t cheap, let me tell ya. But the smile on your kid’s face, well, that’s priceless, ain’t it? And remember, even if that cookie monster likes veggies now and again, or eats painted rice cakes instead of cookies, he’s still the same old cookie monster. He am what he am, like the song says.
Just make sure it’s sturdy, ya know? Kids, they ain’t exactly gentle with their things. And get one that’s easy to clean. Lord knows what kinda messes those kids get into. And if you can find one with a good zipper, that’s a plus. Nothin’ worse than a busted zipper.
So there ya have it, my two cents on the cookie monster backpack. Not that my two cents is worth much these days, but there it is. Hope it helps ya out. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go bake some cookies. All this talk about cookie monsters got me hungry.
