Alright, let’s talk about them sweet treats in Tampa, Florida. You know, the kinda stuff that makes your teeth hurt but your belly happy. Folks call it “dessert” in fancy places, but I just call it good eatin’.
So, I hear tell there’s all sorts of places in Tampa where you can get your sugar fix. They got places with names like “K Dessert cafe” and “Chocolate Pi.” Sounds real highfalutin, don’t it? But I bet they got some good stuff. I mean, who don’t like chocolate, right? And cake? Lord, have mercy, I could eat cake all day long.
Then there’s this “Hampton Chocolate Factory” place. Sounds like somethin’ out of a storybook, all fancy and whatnot. But I reckon they got all kinds of chocolate goodies. Probably got them little chocolate truffles, all smooth and melty in your mouth. And maybe them chocolate-covered strawberries. Them’s always a treat.
Now, some folks like that creamy cold stuff, what they call “gelato” or somethin’. And them “decadent cakes.” Sounds rich, don’t it? I ain’t had much fancy cake in my life, but I reckon it’s just cake with a lot of butter and sugar. And that ain’t a bad thing, no sirree.
They also got places with names like “Harry Waugh Dessert Room” and “Bake’n Babes.” Sounds like places where the ladies go to gossip and eat cake. But I bet they got good pie too. I love a good pie, especially apple pie. Warm apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream… oh, my! That’s heaven right there.
- Apple pie
- Peach cobbler
- Cherry pie
- Key lime pie
Speaking of pie, they say Tampa’s got this “Key Lime Pie.” Never had it myself, but they say it’s real tart and sweet. Made with them little key limes, I guess. I reckon it’s good on a hot day. Keeps you cool and satisfied.
And then there’s all them other places, like “Oak and Ola,” “Riveters Tampa,” and “Yah Mon.” Sounds like a mix of everything. Maybe they got them fancy desserts, and maybe they got good ol’ fashioned stuff too. I tell you what, I ain’t picky. If it’s sweet and it tastes good, I’ll eat it.
Folks on the internet, they talk about “banana’s foster” and “macadamia nut sundae.” I ain’t never heard of such things, but they sound mighty tasty. Bananas and nuts and ice cream? Sounds like a party in your mouth.
And don’t forget about them “charlottes.” They say it’s some kind of chilled dessert with mousse and cake. Sounds kinda like a fancy pudding to me. But I bet it’s good. Anything with mousse and cake is bound to be good.
So, if you find yourself in Tampa and you got a hankerin’ for somethin’ sweet, you got plenty of choices. From fancy chocolate shops to down-home bakeries, they got it all. Just go on out there and find somethin’ that tickles your fancy. And don’t worry about the calories. Life’s too short to worry about that. Just eat your dessert and be happy. That’s what I always say.
And if you ever find a place that makes a really good old-fashioned apple pie, you let me know. I’ll be there faster than a fly on a watermelon!
Anyways, I gotta go now, thinking about all this sweet stuff is making my mouth water. Y’all go on and enjoy yourselves, and don’t forget to treat yourself to something nice every now and then. You deserve it.
