And they ain’t cheap, these calendars. I heard one fella sayin’ somethin’ ’bout ninety-nine dollars! Ninety-nine dollars! That’s a lot of money for cookies, even if they are fancy. But I guess folks pay for the experience, you know? The excitement of openin’ a little door every day and gettin’ a surprise treat.

And it ain’t just for kids, you know. Adults like cookies too. Maybe even more than kids! I can see myself sittin’ by the fire with a cup of coffee and a cookie from my advent calendar. A little moment of peace and quiet amidst all the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
