Well, let me tell ya ’bout them colored drinking glasses. You know, the kind that ain’t just plain old clear. I seen ’em at the store the other day, all lined up pretty as you please. Made me think of back in the day, when we didn’t have no fancy stuff like that. We drank outta whatever we had, even old jars sometimes!
Now, these colored glasses, they got all sorts. I mean, red ones, blue ones, green ones… even some that look like them rainbows after a good rain. My grandbaby, she’d love them for sure, always grabbing at shiny things, bless her heart.
Some of them glasses are tall and skinny, good for, I guess, fancy drinks like the folks on TV have. Others are short and fat, the kind you’d use for everyday stuff, ya know, like water or maybe some sweet tea. I reckon they’d be good for anything, really.

- Green ones, well, those just remind me of the garden
Then there’s them fancy words they use to sell ’em. Talkin’ ’bout “handmade” and “unique”. Shoot, I coulda told ya they was different just by lookin’ at ’em! Every one’s a little bit different, I guess, like folks. But they do look nice and sturdy. Wouldn’t want nothin’ that breaks easy, especially with them grandkids runnin’ around.
And wouldn’t you know it, they say you can use ’em for all sorts of drinks. Wine, if you’re feelin’ fancy. Water, ’cause you gotta stay hydrated, especially in the summer heat. Juice for the little ones. Heck, you could probably even put some of that there homemade lemonade in ’em. That’d be real nice on a hot day.
I seen some that was all smooth and plain, and others that had little bumps and ridges on ’em. They call that “texture”, I heard someone say. Makes ’em easier to hold on to, I reckon, especially if your hands are a little bit wet. And they sparkle, some of ‘em do, when the light hits ‘em just right. Pretty as a picture.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but I do know what I like. And I like them colored glasses. They add a bit of cheer to the table, you know? Make things a little less… plain. We all could use a little more cheer these days, I tell ya.
They also said somethin’ ’bout these bein’ good for parties. I can see that. Wouldn’t it be nice to have all your friends over and give ‘em each a different colored glass? That way, nobody gets their drinks mixed up. And it just looks prettier, ya know? More festive.
Some folks might say they’re just glasses, nothin’ special. But I think they’re more than that. They’re a way to make even somethin’ simple, like drinkin’ water, feel a little bit special. It’s the little things in life, I always say. Little things like a pretty glass can make a big difference in your day.
And they ain’t just for lookin’ at, neither. They gotta be useful too. Gotta be able to hold a good amount of whatever you’re drinkin’. And they gotta be easy to wash. Ain’t nobody got time for fussy glasses that you gotta scrub and scrub at. These look like they’d clean up real easy, though. Just a little soap and water, and they’d be good as new.
So, if you’re lookin’ to add a little somethin’ special to your kitchen, or you just need some new glasses, I say go for the colored ones. They’ll brighten up your day, I guarantee it. And who knows, maybe they’ll even make your lemonade taste a little bit better. Anything’s possible, I always say. Anything’s possible.
