Well now, let me tell ya ’bout them fancy cookies, the kind they call “custom Oreo cookies”. I ain’t never seen nothin’ like it. Back in my day, an Oreo was an Oreo, plain and simple. But these young folks, they always gotta be changin’ things, makin’ ’em all newfangled.
So, from what I gather, these custom Oreo cookies ain’t your regular store-bought kind. You get to pick and choose what goes in ’em, like pickin’ vegetables from your garden, but way sweeter. I heard tell you can go on some website and start messin’ around with the fillin’. You know, that white stuff in the middle? Well, you can change the color of it! Can you imagine? Blue fillin’, red fillin’, maybe even green fillin’ for all I know! It’s like paintin’ your house, but with cookies.
- First, they say you gotta “STUF it”. That means pickin’ the kinda cream you want. Sounds messy to me.
- Then, you “DIP it”. I reckon that means choosin’ if you want extra chocolate or somethin’. Kids these days and their dippin’.
- Next, you “DESIGN it”. This is where you get to be all fancy, pickin’ colors and sprinkles and such. More trouble than it’s worth, if you ask me.
- Last, you “PACK it”. They put ’em in a box, I guess. Nothin’ special about that.
And it ain’t just the cream you get to mess with. They say you can add sprinkles, too! All sorts of little colored bits, like what you put on a birthday cake. And fudge! Now, I do like a good fudge, but puttin’ it in a cookie? Seems a bit much if you ask me. But hey, to each their own, I always say.
They say there’s two ways to go about it. You can just change the color of that cream stuff, which seems simple enough. Or you can go whole hog and add all the sprinkles and fudge you want. It’s like ordering a burger, I guess. You can get a plain one, or you can load it up with all the fixin’s. Makes it cost more, though, I betcha. Nothin’ in this world is free, not even a fancy cookie.
I also heard tell that you can make these Oreo cookies at home, from scratch! Now, that’s somethin’ I can understand. Good ol’ fashioned bakin’. You get your flour and sugar, and you mix it all up. You make the cookie part, then you make the fillin’, and then you put it all together. That’s how my mama used to do it, and her mama before her. No fancy websites or “dippin’” or “designin’”. Just good, honest bakin’.
But these customizable Oreos, they seem like a fun treat for a party, or for givin’ away as favors. I can see the young’uns gettin’ a kick out of it, pickin’ out all their favorite colors and whatnot. Me? I’ll stick with my plain Oreos, dunked in a glass of milk. Can’t beat the classics, I tell ya. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ a little different, somethin’ to make your eyes pop and your teeth ache, then maybe these custom Oreo cookies are just the ticket. Just don’t expect me to understand all the fuss!
This whole thing makes me think of when I was a little girl. We didn’t have any fancy cookies, we ate whatever we had. Sometimes, if we were lucky, we got a little bit of sugar on our bread. That was a treat! Now, they’ve got cookies you can design yourself. It’s a different world, I tell ya. A completely different world.
But, I guess that’s progress for ya. Always changin’, always gettin’ fancier. Maybe one day I’ll try one of these custom cookies. Just to see what all the fuss is about. But until then, I’ll stick with my plain Oreos and my glass of milk. That’s good enough for me. And if you are young people and want try something new, go make your own oreo cookie! Have fun with it.
