Okay, so, today I wanted to mess around and try to make that “the cup drink” thing that’s been going around. You know, those fancy-looking drinks that seem super complicated but are actually pretty doable at home. I’m no barista, but I figured, why not give it a shot?
Getting Started
First things first, I had to gather my stuff. I didn’t really have a recipe, so I just kind of winged it based on what I’ve seen online. I grabbed a couple of my favorite mugs, some different tea, a whole bunch of milk, and the sugar jar. I also found some honey in the back of the cupboard, which I thought might be a nice touch.

Next up, sweetener. I added a spoonful of sugar to the black tea and a drizzle of honey to the green tea. I gave each mug a good stir to make sure everything was mixed well. I tasted both, and they were actually pretty good! The black tea was strong and robust, while the green tea had a lighter, more delicate flavor.
The Final Touch
To make it a bit more special, I decided to froth some milk. I don’t have a fancy frother, so I just heated some milk on the stove and whisked it like crazy. It got a little foamy, which was good enough for me. I spooned the foam on top of each drink, and that gave it a bit of a professional look.
The Verdict
All in all, I’d say my attempt at making “the cup drink” was a success. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely fun to make, and the drinks tasted great. I learned a lot along the way, like how to kind of layer milk (still working on that) and that frothing milk with a whisk is a decent workout. I’ll definitely be trying this again, maybe with different types of tea or some added flavors. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get good enough to impress my friends with my newfound barista skills!
