Urban Dessert Lab Los Angeles: The Best Sweet Treats You Need to Try Right Now.
Okay, so I went to this place, Urban Dessert Lab, in Los Angeles. Let me tell you, it was quite the experience.
First off, I figured out where it was. It’s on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood. Not too hard to find, really.
Then I checked out their hours. They’re not open Mondays or Tuesdays, it seems. I went on a Thursday evening. They opened at 5:00 PM that day, so I made sure to get there a bit after that.
What I Did
- Walked in and this lady, Zan, greeted me. Super nice and helpful, especially since I had no clue what I was doing.
- Looked around and saw I could make my own ice cream thing or pick one of their ready-made ones.
- Decided to create my own. It’s more fun that way, right?
- Picked an oat-milk base because I heard they’re famous for that. It’s like the first place ever to have oat-milk ice cream!
- Added some sauces and toppings. I think I went a little crazy there, but who cares?
- Paid for my creation and then found a spot to sit down.
- Ate the whole thing. It was so good! Dairy-free, too, which is cool if you’re into that. They even have gluten-free and other options for people with allergies, I guess.
I also found out that the place is owned by two sisters. And they’re doing pretty well, I guess. They got a shoutout from ESPN for being a cool Black-owned business.
After I finished my ice cream, I chatted a bit more with Zan. She told me about how they started in New York City and now they’re here in LA.
So yeah, that was my adventure at Urban Dessert Lab. I left the place pretty happy and full of ice cream. If you’re ever in West Hollywood, you should totally check it out.
