Magnetic Cookie Box: What Is It? Easy Guide to These Trendy Treat Boxes!
Okay, so I got this idea the other day to make a magnetic cookie box. You know, something a little different to give out during the holidays. I always bake a ton of cookies and treats, and I needed a cool way to package them up. And just like every year, I wanted something that would keep the cookies fresh and look nice.
I started by gathering all my baking supplies. Flour, sugar, eggs, the whole shebang. Once I’d mixed and baked a few different batches of cookies, I started looking for the right box. I thought a tin would be perfect, but then I remembered, they just turn into a space for sewing or drawing stuff after.
I found some sturdy cardboard boxes at the craft store. They were plain, but that’s fine, I figured I could decorate them later. The important thing was that they were solid enough to protect the cookies. And what’s even better, these are made from up to 70% recycled content!
Then came the fun part – arranging the cookies. I started with the biggest ones, carefully placing them in the bottom of the box. From mason jars filled with snowball cookies, then I started to fill in the gaps with smaller cookies and other treats.
Adding the Magnets
I bought a pack of small, round magnets, the kind you use for crafts. I attached one magnet to the inside of the lid and another to the corresponding spot on the box. I made sure they were strong enough to hold the lid closed, but not so strong that it would be hard to open. After gluing the magnets in place, I let them dry overnight. Just to be sure they were really secure. Yes, once the magnets have been removed, they can be recycled.
Decorating the Box
Once the magnets were set, I started decorating. I used some festive wrapping paper and some nice ribbons. I wanted each box to look special, like a real present. It took a bit of time, but it was worth it. The boxes turned out really nice. Not only can a cookie box help retain the freshness of your baked goods longer, it’s like a little gift in itself.
Finally, I filled each box with an assortment of homemade cookies. I made sure to include everyone’s favorites. I packed the boxes full, but not too tightly, so the cookies wouldn’t get squished. When I was done, each box looked amazing. A full, abundant box ready to be gifted.
It’s a box usually filled with an assortment of homemade cookies or treats that you give as gifts to families. This is usually passed around on respective holidays, depending on what each family celebrates. On Christmas, we gift boxes to each of our neighbors down the street.
This project turned out to be a lot of fun. It was a bit of work, but seeing the finished product made it all worthwhile. Plus, it’s a great way to share some homemade love during the holidays. I can’t wait to see the looks on my friends’ and family’s faces when they receive these.
