Best Harry Potter Drinking Games Ever (Simple Rules for a Hogwarts-Themed Party)
Oh, honey, you wanna know about them drinking games, huh? With that Harry Potter, the boy with the scar? I seen them movies, you know. My grandkids, they love ’em. So, you wanna drink and watch that wizard boy, eh? Sounds like a hoot!
Well, I ain’t no fancy city folk with their cocktails and what not. But I know a thing or two about having a good time. So you get that Harry Potter on the TV. You know, the one with all the magic and the little boy who looks a little bit weak in the beginning? He has some friends with him all the time.
You get your drinks ready. Beer, whiskey, whatever you got. We ain’t picky. Just make sure you got enough. You don’t wanna be running out mid-movie, now do ya? And you gonna need it, ’cause them movies is long! Longer than a Sunday sermon, I tell ya!
Now, here’s the fun part. Every time that Harry Potter boy, bless his heart, says something that make you feel good inside, you take a little sip. Just a little one, mind you. We ain’t trying to get plastered here. Just a little somethin’ to warm the belly.
Then you got that other boy, the one with all the red hair. Ron, I think they call him? Every time he looks scared or like he’s about to puke, you take another sip. That boy, he’s always gettin’ into somethin’. He is always looking like that, so be careful, or else you might not be able to watch all the movies!
- Every time someone says “Voldemort,” you gotta take a big gulp.
- If someone does magic, you take a drink.
- If they fly on them broomsticks, you drink.
- When that mean teacher, the one with the greasy hair, talks all snotty, you pinch your nose and take a drink. He thinks he is all that! But you can tell he is a bad person.
Now, I heard some folks like to play with cards, too. They lay ’em out like a clock. I don’t know about all that, but if you need to use cards, put number 1 to 12 on the floor, like a clock. If you are drinking, you have to put units of alcohol into your body. I don’t know what is that, but they told me different drinks give you different units.
And they say for the first hour, nothing will happen. After the first hour, you lose one unit of alcohol per hour. Well, that is what some people told me when I was in the city once. I don’t know much about that, but it sounds fun, I guess.
Oh, and if they go to that school, what’s it called? Hogwarts? Yeah, Hogwarts. Every time they show that big castle, you gotta finish your drink. That’s a big building, ain’t it? Bigger than my old barn, and that thing was huge! Bigger than anything I have seen in my life!
You can make up your own rules, too. Like, every time that owl shows up, you hoot like an owl and take a drink. Or every time they mention that bad guy, the one without a nose, you gotta take a shot. He is a really bad guy, even though you don’t see him much in the beginning. I don’t know why he has no nose, but he is a really bad person, and I don’t like him.
Just remember, the point is to have fun. Don’t be gettin’ all serious about it. It’s just a movie, and it’s just a game. And don’t drink too much, ya hear? We don’t want nobody gettin’ sick. We just want to have some fun.
These Harry Potter drinking games are simple. You can make them complicated if you want, but why bother? Just watch the movie, drink when something happens, and have a good time. That’s all there is to it.
Now, I hear there’s different houses in that school. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. You can make a drinking game out of that, too. Every time they mention your house, you drink. Or if your house wins some points, everyone else drinks.
I also heard about some game called “True American.” I don’t know much about it, but it sounds crazy. Something about the floor being lava and you gotta drink whiskey. And you yell “JFK, FDR!” Sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me, but hey, if that’s your thing, go for it.
Just don’t go around thinking you are some fancy wizard after all that drinking! We are just trying to have some fun and some laughs.
So, there you have it. My take on Harry Potter drinking games. Hope you have a good time. And remember, drink responsibly. Or at least, as responsibly as you can while watching a movie about a boy wizard.
