Cookie Sheet Plastic Lids: How These Handy Lids Can Keep Your Baked Goods Fresh
Okay, so, picture this: I’m in the kitchen, staring at a pile of those plastic lids from takeout containers, you know the ones? And right next to them, a stack of cookie sheets. Light bulb moment! I thought, “Why not combine these two and see what happens?” So I did just that.
First off, I grabbed a few of the sturdier plastic lids. I made sure they were clean, obviously. Then, I laid them out on my countertop. Next, I took my cookie sheets – the ones without any rims around the edges, just a flat surface with maybe a little lip on one side to grab with oven mitts – and placed them upside down on top of the lids.
- Some of my cookie sheets are nonstick, made of aluminum or steel, with a dark, smooth finish.
- Others are just plain stainless steel or aluminum, the kind you use for everything, not just cookies.
Turns out, the lids fit perfectly under the cookie sheets! It was like they were made for each other. Now, I can stack my cookie sheets without them sliding all over the place. Plus, the lids protect the nonstick coating on some of my sheets from getting scratched.
Before this, I used to just pile my cookie sheets in a drawer, and it was always a mess. They’d slide around, clatter together, and the nonstick ones would get all scratched up. This is way better! They are organized and protected.
It’s such a simple thing, but it really made a difference in how I store my cookie sheets. It’s easier to find the one I need, and they’re in better shape. It is also easier to clean up.
This whole thing is just another example of how you can find new uses for everyday stuff. You just gotta look at things a little differently! I am glad that I tried this and figured this out. Now I can share this little trick with all of you! I hope you can try this, too!
