Custom Dipped Oreo Cookie White Chocolate: Are They Worth the Hype? A Tasty and Honest Review
Alright, so I’ve been seeing these fancy, custom-dipped Oreo cookies all over the internet, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot myself?” I mean, they look pretty awesome, and honestly, how hard could it be? So, today, I decided to try my hand at making some white chocolate-dipped Oreos. Let me tell you, it was quite an adventure!
First off, I gathered all my supplies. Oreos, of course – I grabbed a pack of the classic ones, but I did see they brought back the Red Velvet flavor, which I’m totally trying next time! Then, I got a big bag of white chocolate chips and some colorful sprinkles because, well, everything’s better with sprinkles. I also laid out some parchment paper on a baking sheet. That’s where the magic was going to happen.
Melting the chocolate was the first real step. I used a double boiler setup. I filled a pot with some water, put a heat-safe bowl on top, and poured the white chocolate chips in there. I turned on the heat and started stirring. It took a few minutes, but eventually, the chocolate got all smooth and melty. Good Stuff!
Dipping Time!
- I took an Oreo and dipped it halfway into the melted white chocolate.
- I made sure to let the excess chocolate drip off back into the bowl.
- Then, I placed the dipped Oreo onto the parchment paper.
Before the chocolate set, I sprinkled some of those colorful sprinkles on top. I felt like a kid again, playing with my food! I did a few with just white chocolate, and for a few others, I tried to make a swirl pattern with some melted dark chocolate I had left over from another project. I gotta say, they looked pretty professional, if I do say so myself.
After dipping and decorating all the Oreos I wanted, I popped the baking sheet into the fridge. The waiting was the hardest part! I kept checking every few minutes, but it probably took about 30 minutes for the chocolate to fully harden.
Finally, they were ready! I pulled them out of the fridge and, of course, had to taste-test one (or five). They were delicious! The creamy white chocolate with the crunchy Oreo was just perfect. Plus, they looked so cute; I almost didn’t want to eat them. Almost.
This was such a fun and easy project. Seriously, anyone can do this. It’s a great way to impress your friends and family without spending hours in the kitchen. Plus, you can customize them however you want – different colors, sprinkles, even little edible images if you’re feeling extra fancy. I saw some online that had custom logos and photos. That’s the next level. I’ll get there eventually. I’m already thinking about making these for the holidays. Imagine little Oreo Christmas ornaments! They’re gonna be a hit, I just know it.
Anyway, that’s my Oreo-dipping adventure. It was a sweet success! Now I need to figure out how to not eat all of these before anyone else gets home. Oops!
