Hey guys, it’s me again! You all know that I have been working on keeping healthy and losing weight recently, and I have found that the ketogenic diet is a really effective way to lose weight. I lost about eight pounds last month! But the usual ketogenic diet can be a bit boring and greasy, so I did some research online and found that many people recommended trying a “dairy-free ketogenic diet.” So, I tried it out for about a week and wanted to share my experience with you.
Getting Started
First, I searched for what I could and couldn’t eat on a dairy-free ketogenic diet, and I found that I could still eat meat, fish, and eggs. Great! I love those. Then I went to the supermarket and bought a lot of beef, chicken breasts, salmon, and a ton of eggs. I also picked up some avocados and various green leafy vegetables. I spent about $100, which is a bit more than usual, but I figured it was worth it.
Cooking
- Day 1: For breakfast, I fried two eggs with some spinach and a small avocado. For lunch, I grilled a piece of salmon and ate it with a large salad. For dinner, I stir-fried some beef slices with broccoli. I felt pretty full all day.
- Day 2: I started to feel a bit tired. I read online that this might be the “keto flu” because my body was adapting to the lack of carbs. So, I drank a lot of water and added some salt to my meals. I had chicken and mixed greens for lunch and beef and a big salad for dinner. I went to bed early, hoping to feel better the next day.
- Day 3: I felt much better! I had more energy. I made scrambled eggs with mushrooms for breakfast. For lunch, I had leftover beef and veggies. For dinner, I roasted a chicken and ate it with asparagus. I was starting to enjoy this diet!
- Day 4-6: By now, I was getting used to this way of eating. I started experimenting with different spices and seasonings to make my meals more interesting. I also found some dairy-free keto recipes online that used almond milk and coconut cream as substitutes. They tasted pretty good!
- Day 7: I weighed myself this morning and found that I had lost another two pounds! I was so happy!
Reflecting
This week of dairy-free keto was challenging but also rewarding. I found that dairy isn’t that important for keto. I successfully managed to stay in ketosis, and I lost a total of two pounds, which was great! I might not stick to it strictly every day, but I’ll definitely incorporate some of these meals into my regular diet. It’s all about finding a balance that works for you. I recommend everyone give it a try!
That’s all for my sharing today. Hope my experience can help you. I’ll keep updating my diet and life. Stay tuned!
