Dessert Trees for Your Garden: Planting Tips for Growing Delicious Fruit Trees!

Okay, so today I wanted to try something a bit different in the garden – making a dessert tree garden. I’ve always loved baking, and the idea of having fresh ingredients right outside my door sounded amazing. So, I started looking into it.

First, I gathered some ideas online. I found out that it’s all about picking plants that are not just pretty but also perfect for sweet treats. I mean, who wouldn’t want to have a garden that smells like a bakery, right? The main thing was to choose the plants that can used as ingredients of dessert or can be eaten directly.

Then I started planning. I drew a rough sketch of my backyard and marked out a sunny spot that gets at least six hours of sunlight a day. That’s apparently super important for these kinds of plants. Then decided to grow some classic dessert plants like strawberries, blueberries, and a dwarf lemon tree. Oh, and I also added some mint because, why not? Mint goes with everything!

Planting Day

Planting day came, and it was a blast. I dug holes, placed each plant carefully, and watered them. It felt so good to get my hands dirty. I even talked to the plants a bit, telling them to grow big and strong. Don’t judge, I heard it helps!

Next up, I made sure to water them regularly. I didn’t want my future pie fillings to dry out. I also added some mulch around the plants to keep the soil moist and prevent weeds. I’m not a fan of weeding, so this was a win-win.

After a few weeks, I started seeing some progress. The strawberries began to flower, and the blueberry bush got all these cute little green berries. The lemon tree was thriving too, and the mint was growing like crazy. I might have to start a mint tea business soon!

Harvest Time

Finally, the day came when I could harvest some of my goodies. I picked the ripe strawberries and blueberries and even got a few lemons. It was the best feeling ever. I made a simple fruit salad that day, and let me tell you, it tasted like heaven. The freshness was just unbeatable.

Plus, I feel pretty proud of myself for pulling it off. If I can do it, anyone can!
