Desserts That Start With D: Discover Some Delicious Treats

Okay, so, I had this idea to make a list of desserts that start with the letter “D.” I thought it would be fun, and honestly, I just wanted an excuse to try out a bunch of different sweets. I mean, who doesn’t love a good dessert, right?

So I started brainstorming. The first thing that popped into my head was, of course, donuts. I mean, who doesn’t love donuts? I went to the local bakery and picked up a dozen assorted donuts. Glazed, sprinkled, filled…you name it, I got it. I tried a bite of each, and they were all so good, I couldn’t even pick a favorite.

Next, I remembered seeing these cute little desserts in jars on the internet. I thought, “Why not?” and decided to give it a go. It was a bit more complicated, I had to layer different ingredients in these little jars, but the result was pretty satisfying. Plus, they looked super cute, perfect for sharing with friends. I made a note to use this for parties in the future.

    Some Desserts I Tried:

  • Donuts – Can’t go wrong with the classics.
  • Dessert in a Jar – A bit of work, but totally worth it.
  • Dame Blanche – This one was new to me. It’s basically vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, sounded simple, but it was surprisingly tasty.

I also tried something called “Depression Cake.” The name sounds a bit sad, but the cake itself was pretty good. It’s an old recipe, apparently from when ingredients were scarce, so it’s made without eggs, milk, or butter. It was interesting to try something with a bit of history behind it. Turns out, it was a lot richer than I expected, definitely a must-try for chocolate cake lovers.

And of course, I couldn’t forget about things like dates and dulce de leche. Dates are naturally sweet, so they’re a good option if you want something a bit healthier. Dulce de leche, on the other hand…that stuff is pure indulgence. I got a jar and, well, let’s just say it didn’t last very long.

Oh, and I also grabbed a Danish from the bakery when I got the donuts. It wasn’t the star of the show, but it was a nice addition to my “D” dessert adventure. I liked the flaky pastry and the sweet filling.

All in all, it was a fun little project. I got to try a bunch of different desserts, and I discovered some new favorites. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I need a nap after all that sugar.
