Okay, so, I recently got into this whole “Lincoln Reagan Dinner” thing, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. It all started when I stumbled upon some info about these dinners online. I saw something about the “41st Annual” one and I was like, “Wow, that’s been going on for a while.”
So, I dug a little deeper. Apparently, these dinners are a big deal for the Republican Party, you know, celebrating their achievements and all that jazz. They named it after Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, two big-shot Republican presidents. Seems they do this every year in different places.
I found out the one I could actually go to was going to have a shrimp and fish dinner, which, honestly, sounded pretty good to me. They also mentioned “keynote speakers” but didn’t say who they were at first. I thought, “Hey, why not? Could be interesting.”
Getting tickets wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. First, I saw some crazy prices online, like $50,000 and $25,000! I mean, who pays that much for dinner? But then I found out those were probably for, like, sponsoring a whole table or something. I ended up finding some regular tickets that cost around $100, and that included the meal and getting to see what they were calling the “program.”
I decided to go for it. I mean, why not, right? I got my ticket and marked the date on my calendar: April 1st, from 6 to 9:30 pm. It was being held at some golf course called “Old Hickory Golf Course.” Sounded fancy enough.
The day finally came, and I got dressed up a bit. When I got there, it was quite the scene. Lots of people all dressed up, chatting and mingling. The dinner was pretty good. I definitely enjoyed the shrimp. And they had this guest of honor, a Lieutenant Governor named Winsome Sears, who gave a speech.
