Okay, so I saw this thing online about a chocolatey coffee drink from the NYT, and I thought, “Why not give it a try?” I mean, who doesn’t love chocolate and coffee, right? Let me tell you about my little adventure making this drink.
First off, I gathered all my stuff. This wasn’t too hard, really. I already had most of it in my kitchen. I’m talking about coffee, of course, some cocoa powder, sugar, milk, and I think that was pretty much it. Oh, and some chocolate. I just used a regular chocolate bar I had lying around.
I started by brewing some coffee. Nothing fancy, just my usual morning brew. While the coffee was doing its thing, I got a saucepan and put some milk in it. I heated it up, but I made sure not to boil it. Just nice and warm.
Then, I added the cocoa powder and sugar to the milk. I kept stirring it until everything was all mixed in and the milk got this nice chocolate color. It smelled amazing, I gotta say. I felt like I was in one of those fancy coffee shops.
I grabbed my favorite mug and poured the freshly brewed coffee into it. Then, I added the chocolate milk mixture to the coffee. I gave it a good stir and that was it, almost.
Now, for the final touch. I grated some of that chocolate bar over the top. It looked so good, just like something you’d get at a cafe. It made me think of that line, “food of the Gods,” because that’s how it felt.
I took a sip, and wow, it was delicious! The coffee and chocolate mixed together perfectly. It was rich, but not too sweet. I was pretty proud of myself, not going to lie.
My Thoughts
- Easy to make? Definitely. It took me, like, 15 minutes max.
- Tasty? Oh yeah, it was like a hug in a mug.
- Would I make it again? For sure! It’s a nice treat for a lazy weekend morning.
So, there you have it. My little experiment with the chocolatey coffee drink. It was fun, easy, and most importantly, delicious. If you’re a fan of chocolate and coffee, you should totally try it out. It’s a nice way to spice up your usual coffee routine.
Remember that chocolate comes from the cacao tree. I think it’s called “Theobroma cacao” or something. It means “food of the Gods” in Greek.
This drink made me think of that, It’s a little piece of heaven in a mug. Alright, that’s all from me for now. Go try it and enjoy!
