Okay, so I’ve been wanting to check out the Derby Dinner Playhouse for a while now. It’s this cool place in Clarksville, Indiana where you can grab a bite and watch a live show. Sounds fun, right? So, I finally decided to go for it, and here’s how it went down.
First things first, I went on to see what shows they have. Turns out, they were playing this musical called “How I Became A Pirate”, it’s like, a comedy musical, they say it’s a side-splitting one. Anyway, the name sounded interesting, so I figured, why not? This could be a good one.
Getting the tickets:

- The lady on the phone was super nice and helped me pick out some good seats.
- The ticket includes dinner, the show, tax, coffee, and tea, which is pretty sweet.
The Experience:
I got there, and the place was buzzing. Lots of people, all excited for the show. They sat me down at my table, and the atmosphere was lively. Oh, and they have some interesting shows coming up. I saw a poster for one called “Love, Lies & the Lottery” – sounds like a wild ride, maybe I’ll catch that next time.
They served dinner first. Now, I didn’t take notes on the exact menu, but it was a decent spread. Nothing too fancy, but tasty enough. Then came the show.
Man, that musical was something else! A bunch of actors singing and dancing, pretending to be pirates. I gotta say, it was pretty entertaining. I laughed a good amount.
After the show, I hung around for a bit, soaking in the vibe. It was a fun night out, nothing too serious. Just a good, old-fashioned dinner and a show.
Would I go again?
Yeah, probably. It’s a nice change of pace. Plus, I saw on their Instagram (they’ve got like, almost 6,000 followers) that they have different shows all the time. So, maybe I’ll check out another one sometime.
