Alright, so you wanna know about this Monster energy drink, huh? I ain’t no fancy doctor or nothin’, but I can tell ya what I know. Heard folks talkin’ about it, seen the young’uns drinkin’ it, so I figured I’d take a look myself.
First thing’s first, that there can is full of sugar. Lordy, I tell ya, it’s like drinkin’ candy! They say there’s about 28 grams of sugar in a small can, that’s like a whole lotta sugar cubes, you know? Makes me think about all them sweets I used to eat as a kid, but this here’s probably worse, ’cause you drink it so fast.
Now, sugar ain’t the only thing in it. They got this stuff they call “carbohydrates.” Sounds fancy, but it’s just more sugar, far as I can tell. And salt too, they call it “sodium,” but it’s just salt. Why they gotta make it sound so complicated, I don’t know. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it.
Then there’s these “calories.” They say that’s how much energy you get from it, but I ain’t so sure. Seems to me, it just makes folks jittery and then they crash. Like a sugar high, you know? One of them bigger cans, the 16-ounce one, has got 210 of them calories. And get this, they say it’s all carbs, no fat or protein. Just sugar and salt, basically.
- Sugar: Way too much, if you ask me. Makes you feel good for a bit, then you feel all tired and cranky.
- Carbs: More sugar, just dressed up in a fancy name.
- Sodium: Salt. Just plain salt. Don’t need more of that, I tell ya.
- Calories: They say it gives you energy, but I think it just makes you jumpy.
- Fat and Protein: Ain’t none of that in there, just sugar and salt, mostly.
They got these smaller cans too, the 8-ounce ones. Those have got about 100 calories. Still too much, I reckon. They say you gotta walk for almost half an hour just to burn off them calories. Seems like a lot of work for a little drink, don’t it? And who’s got time to walk for half an hour these days? Everyone’s always in a hurry.
I seen some other kinds of this Monster drink too, like coffee ones. They probably got all the same stuff, just with some coffee flavor added in. Makes you wonder what else they’re puttin’ in there. All these chemicals and such, it can’t be good for ya, I tell ya. Back in my day, we just drank water and milk. Kept us strong and healthy.
Folks been drinkin’ this stuff for years now, they say 18 years or somethin’. I guess they like it, but I just don’t see the point. All that sugar and salt, it can’t be good for your heart or your teeth or nothin’. You’re better off eatin’ a good meal, somethin’ with vegetables and meat, not this sugary drink.
I heard tell that too much sugar can make you sick. Diabetes, they call it. And heart problems too. You don’t want none of that, I tell ya. It’s better to just stick to the basics, the stuff that’s good for you. Water, milk, maybe some juice once in a while. That’s what I do, and I’m still kickin’!
So, if you ask me, this Monster drink ain’t worth the fuss. It’s just a bunch of sugar and salt and chemicals, all mixed up in a can. You’re better off drinkin’ somethin’ healthy, somethin’ that’ll give you real energy, not just a sugar rush. But hey, that’s just my two cents. You do what you think is best for ya.
But remember what I said, too much sugar ain’t good for nobody. Eat your vegetables, get some sunshine, and drink plenty of water. That’s the secret to a long and healthy life, far as I know. And stay away from them sugary drinks! They ain’t doin’ you no favors.
Just remember: read them labels, see what you’re puttin’ in your body. Don’t just blindly trust them fancy names and colorful cans. Sometimes, the simplest things are the best.
