Ocean Spray Cranberry Recipes for Holidays. Make Your Christmas Dinner Unforgettable!

Okay, so, I got this idea to mess around with some cranberry recipes, you know, the Ocean Spray kind. I’ve always got a bag of those tart little things in my freezer, mostly for smoothies, but I figured, why not get a bit more creative?

First off, I grabbed my laptop and started Googling. Just a simple search for “Ocean Spray cranberry recipes.” I wanted to see what other folks were doing with them. Found a bunch of stuff, mostly the usual, like sauces and muffins. But a few things caught my eye.

One was a recipe for cranberry salsa. Sounded kinda weird, but also intriguing. So, I decided to give it a shot. I already had most of the ingredients – onions, cilantro, jalapenos. I just needed some limes. A quick trip to the grocery store later, and I was ready to rock.

Cranberry Salsa

  • Chopped up some fresh cranberries in my food processor. I didn’t want them totally pureed, just kinda roughly chopped.
  • Then I diced up the onion, cilantro, and jalapeno.
  • Squeezed in the juice of a couple of limes.
  • Gave it all a good mix.
  • Added a pinch of salt.
  • Tasted it. Hmm, not bad! A little tart, a little spicy, and definitely different.

Next, I stumbled upon a recipe for cranberry glazed chicken wings. Now, I love me some chicken wings, so I was all over this one. This recipe was a tad more involved. I had to make a glaze with the cranberries, some orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and a few other things.

Cranberry Glazed Chicken Wings

  • First, I cooked down the cranberries with the orange juice until they got all soft and mushy.
  • Then I whisked in the soy sauce, honey, some ginger, and garlic.
  • Let that simmer for a bit until it thickened up into a nice glaze.
  • While that was happening, I baked the chicken wings in the oven until they were cooked through and crispy.
  • Once the glaze was ready, I tossed the wings in it, making sure they were all nicely coated.
  • Popped them back in the oven for a few minutes to let the glaze caramelize.

The result? Freaking delicious! The glaze was sweet and tangy, with a little kick from the ginger and garlic. The wings were crispy and juicy. I was pretty darn proud of myself, if I do say so myself.

So, yeah, that’s my little cranberry adventure. It’s not every day you try out new recipes, and let me tell you, it was worth it. I’ll definitely be experimenting more with cranberries in the future. Who knows what other tasty concoctions I’ll come up with? They are quick to cook and I always have them in my freezer. I can find many vegetable sides to make dinner more delicious. Stay tuned!
