Simple Cinnamon Chip Recipes: Perfect for Beginners

Okay, here is my blog post about making cinnamon chips:

Hey everyone! So, I’ve been craving something sweet and decided to try making cinnamon chips. I found some stuff online about it, and it seemed pretty easy, so I gave it a go. Here’s how it went down.

Simple Cinnamon Chip Recipes: Perfect for Beginners

Getting Started

First, I gathered all the ingredients. I needed sugar, ground cinnamon, vegetable shortening, light corn syrup, and vanilla extract. I also grabbed a baking sheet and a mixing bowl from the cupboard. Didn’t want to start and realize I was missing something, you know?

Mixing it Up

In the mixing bowl, I combined the sugar and cinnamon. I just dumped them in and stirred them with a spoon until it looked like they were well mixed. I used a whole lot more cinnamon than the recipes recommended, cause I like the flavor.

Next, I added the vegetable shortening and corn syrup. This part was a little messy, but I just kept mixing until it all came together. It looked kind of like a thick paste at this point.

The last thing I mixed in was the vanilla extract. I just poured a bit in, I used the real stuff, not that imitation flavor.

Baking Time

I preheated my oven. While it was heating up, I spread some of the mixture onto the baking sheet. I tried to make them into little chip shapes, but they ended up looking more like blobs. Oh well.

Once the oven was ready, I popped the baking sheet in. I checked on them while they were baking, I wasn’t too sure how long they were going to take, about 10 minutes. They started to smell really good!

The Results

After they were done, I took them out of the oven and let them cool. They hardened up a bit as they cooled down, which was good. They looked good, maybe a little burnt, but not too bad.

I tried one, and it was pretty tasty! They were sweet and had a nice cinnamon flavor. Not as crispy as I hoped but still good. I’d definitely make these again, maybe with a little less heat next time.

So, that’s my cinnamon chip adventure. It was fun and pretty easy. If you’re looking for a simple sweet treat, give these a try! Maybe you can do better than me at making them look like actual chips!
