Today, I felt like doing something different with my dining setup. I’ve had these old plates for ages, and I thought, why not give spode dinner plates a try? I remembered seeing them at a friend’s place once, and they looked pretty classy.
So, I started my quest to learn more about them. I did some digging online, just casual browsing, you know. I found out that porcelain plates are super strong and don’t chip easily. That’s a big plus for me because I’m not the most graceful person, and I tend to drop things. They also said something about translucency, which I guess means they look kind of delicate and fancy. That sounded good too.

Shopping Around
I decided to check out a store called John Lewis & Partners, since I saw they had Spode tableware. I browsed through their website, but I wanted to see them in person before making a decision. So, I went to their physical store, but they only had Spode Blue Italian Dinner Plates in stock. I wanted to see more options before I made my decision, so I decided to keep searching. It’s always good to see things with your own eyes, right?
Then I found out about Royal Doulton and vancasso, that they had some dinner sets that looked pretty nice, and the vancasso ones even had a floral pattern, which I liked. I browsed through all of these brands, and I realized that I did like the floral pattern on the vancasso dinner set.
Making the Choice
After looking at all these options, I decided I wanted to go with the vancasso dinner plates. They were simple, elegant, and I thought they would fit perfectly with my dining table. I also wanted to try out a set of 6 white dessert plates, because, why not? I love having cake and snacks, so these would come in handy. Even though they weren’t spode, I ended up with something I liked just as much.
