Using Your Cookies with Santa Plate: Fun Ways to Leave Treats for Santa.
Hey guys! It’s your old buddy back again. So, the holiday season’s upon us, and you know what that means – time to get baking! This year, I decided to try my hand at making a “cookies with Santa plate”. I mean, it’s a classic, right? Leaving out cookies and milk for Santa on Christmas Eve. Now, I ain’t no professional baker, but I figured, how hard could it be?
First off, I gotta say, choosing the right cookies was a whole thing. Turns out, there are tons of options! I read somewhere that chocolate chip cookies are the most popular ones to leave for Santa. But then there were also gingerbread, sugar cookies, and those fancy-looking ones with the icing. It was a tough call!
- First, I gathered all my ingredients, the usual suspects: flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and of course, chocolate chips. Lots of them.
- Then, I mixed the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ones in another. The butter had to be room temperature, which I almost forgot about.
- Next, I combined the wet and dry ingredients. This is where it got a bit messy. Flour everywhere!
- After that, I folded in the chocolate chips. I might’ve added a little extra – you know, for quality control.
- Then came the baking part. I scooped the dough onto a baking sheet and popped them in the oven.
The Baking Process
The waiting was the hardest part. My kitchen started smelling amazing, though. After what felt like forever, the timer finally went off. I pulled the cookies out of the oven, and boy, did they look good! They were golden brown and gooey, just how Santa (and I) like them.
The Final Touch
But we weren’t done yet. I had a special plate that I only bring out during Christmas. It’s got a jolly Santa face on it. I carefully arranged the freshly baked cookies on the plate and poured a glass of cold milk. There you have it – my “cookies with Santa plate”! I left it out on the coffee table, right by the Christmas tree, with a little note for Santa. Hope he enjoyed them!
And, oh, I found out a cool fact. Did you know that leaving cookies for Santa was really popular during the Great Depression? Parents used it to teach kids about thanking people who do nice things for them. I thought that was pretty neat. I felt pretty proud of myself. It was a fun little project, and it definitely got me into the holiday spirit. Maybe I’ll try a different kind of cookie next year. Any suggestions?
