Okay, so, I decided to make some cookies the other day, and I wanted to do something a little different. I’ve made regular, round cookies a million times, you know? I wanted something cute and fun, and then it hit me – cat-shaped cookies! I mean, who doesn’t love cats, right?

Anyway, I found this cute set of four cat-shaped cutters, each one a different size – 5″, 4″, 3″, and 2″. They looked perfect, and they said each cutter had a 1″ deep cut, which seemed pretty standard for cookie dough.
I ordered them, and they actually arrived pretty fast. I think they offer fast shipping, which is a plus. When I got them, I was so excited to start baking! I whipped up a simple sugar cookie dough – you know, the usual butter, sugar, eggs, flour, and all that good stuff. I rolled out the dough on a floured surface, making sure it was about 1/4″ thick. Then came the fun part – using the cutters!
- I started with the biggest cat cutter and pressed it into the dough. It cut through so easily.
- Then, I used the smaller ones, making a whole little family of cat cookies.
- I carefully placed them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking Time
I popped them in the oven, which I had preheated to, like, 350 degrees, I think. I baked them for about 8-10 minutes, just until the edges started to turn golden brown. You don’t want to overbake them, or they’ll be too crispy.
Once they were done, I let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. They looked so adorable! I was really happy with how they turned out. Of course, I had to taste one (or two, maybe three) to make sure they were good. And let me tell you, they were delicious!
I ended up decorating them with some simple icing – just powdered sugar, milk, and a little food coloring. I made some pink, some blue, and some just plain white. I even added little sprinkles to some of them. They looked so cute and festive! I gave some to my friends, and they absolutely loved them. They were a big hit! I will definitely be making these again. Maybe next time I’ll try making different animal shapes. The possibilities are endless!
