So, I’ve been wanting to upgrade my dinnerware for a while now. You know, get something a bit more… adult. I finally decided to go for it and started looking into white square dinner plates. Sounds simple enough, right? Boy, was I in for a ride.
First, I hit up all the usual suspects – Target, you know, the big online retailers. I just searched for “white square dinner plates” and started browsing. Then, I thought, why not check out Lowe’s? I mean, they have everything, right? Turns out, they do have a dinnerware section, and lo and behold, they had white square plates! Who knew? Browsing their website, I found a few different styles. Still, I wasn’t completely convinced.
I spent hours going through product descriptions, reading about “chip and scratch resistant” this and “microwave and dishwasher safe” that. I learned that some are made of porcelain, others of different materials. There were a ton of choices. The price range was all over the place too. Some were like 50 bucks for a 24-piece set, while others were way more expensive.
I stumbled upon something called “Flora Danica,” which sounded fancy. Apparently, they’re super expensive because each piece is handmade and takes forever to make. They hand-draw the flowers and fire them multiple times. Definitely not what I was looking for, but interesting nonetheless! They are so expensive that I can not afford them.
After all that searching, I started thinking about colors. Maybe white is boring? The internet is telling me that bold colors are back in style for 2024 – emerald green, sapphire blue, ruby red. They do look pretty stunning. I almost got sidetracked by those vibrant colors, not gonna lie.
But then, I remembered my original goal. Simple, elegant, white square plates. I just need to choose one to buy. I ended up finding a set that I liked on one of the online retailers. They weren’t too expensive, looked durable, and had good reviews. So, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered them! They arrived a few days later, and I was so excited to finally use them!
I ended up making this delicious pasta dish, and let me tell you, it looked amazing on those plates. I even tried arranging the salad just so, and took some photos. They really do elevate the whole dining experience. I felt so grown up, haha!
